LAWRENCE MANDEL DPM



Dr. Lawrence M. Mandel, in private practice since 1979, selected podiatry as his professional career in order to provide specialized expert care to the large number of people who will suffer from a foot problem sometime in their lives.

In order to prepare for such needs, after college he pursued his medical education which involved four years of study at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree with the highest honors in 1978.

Dr. Mandel continued his specialty training as a surgical resident in the Maryland Podiatric Residency Program. From 1969 to 1974, he attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he received his B.A. degree in biology.

The doctor is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a contributing editor to the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is honored to have been selected to participate in administering the oral portion of the surgical board certification examination.

Dr. Mandel maintains his professional standings with memberships in the

  • Missouri Podiatric Medical Association
  • Kansas Podiatric Medical Association
  • Arthritis Foundation's Western Missouri Chapter
  • American Diabetes Association

He continues to serve the medical community with hospital affiliations at:

  • Research Medical Center
  • St. Joseph Medical Center
  • Lee's Summit Medical Center

In addition, Dr. Mandel is actively involved in teaching in The Research Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Mandel, a native of Maryland, was born in 1951. Since starting his practice in 1979, he has come to appreciate and enjoy Midwestern values, lifestyle and family life.
